I’ll begin by making this testimonial totally transparent. Rob and I have been best friends since the age of four. Throughout or friendship I can’t recall a time where we have ever had an argument, maybe more-so a minor difference in opinions, never nothing major.
Throughout our adolescent lives I would say we have both followed near enough identical paths in which let’s say, both liked one too many snacks. Going through our early teens we both carried a bit too much weight than we should have been coming from loving homes and parents who demonstrated their love by keeping us ‘well fed’.
It was in my late teens that I discovered a passion for gym, fitness and keeping healthy (I have always been an avid sportsman, with football and tennis being my preferred sports). Since my late teens I have always been active, regularly attending the gym 5/6 times a week alongside playing football; maintaining this lifestyle throughout, College, University and now full-time employment.
In my eyes I always believed I had a structured training routine, an adequate diet plan (I have never been a supporter to tracking my portions/macros etc) and consistency in my training, how wrong I was.
Here came Rob…
Again, for transparency, Rob approached me to partake in a 12-week transformation plan. Initially I wasn’t too keen, but with a summer stag-do fast approaching I thought now could not be a better time to do this! Being best friends, I have trained alongside Rob many times, but never trained with him as my coach.
I say coach because the term ‘Personal Trainer’ does not do this man/business any justice. Rob is (rightly so) proud owner of RCA Fitness who is extremely passionate about improving people’s way of life through health and fitness. During my transformation Rob demonstrated his exceptional and comprehensive knowledge in fitness coaching. As his friend I am aware that Rob has spent countless hours, weekends attending extra curricular courses to better himself as a coach and to better his level of service he can provide to his clients. And I can tell you… it definitely shows in his results!
His level of communication is exceptional, his explanation for exercises is clear and concise. What I really liked about being coached by Rob is that he is not a coach that uses fancy fitness terminology to try and explain exercises; he communicates clearly and concisely. This is also reciprocated with the nutrition plan he set me, explaining at each week why he has increased/decreased calories/protein etc.
I would also like to highlight Rob’s professionalism and approach to his job. For most coaches they may struggle to maintain a professional outlook when coaching their friends, however I was not treated as a friend during my transformation. I was seen and treated like all of his clients, I would have to be on time for sessions, adhere to the nutrition plans and make sure I sent in my weekly check-ins on time.
In return Rob was always a message/call away if I had any questions and as the saying goes if you give him 100%, he will give you 100% back.
I don’t want to waffle on anymore, but if you really want to change your life/ get the physique you’ve always wanted, I could not recommend RCA Fitness enough. My results speak for themselves!
She had tried all sorts of diets including weight watchers & slimming world. The issue was though, like many she would stop attending when she hit her target and gain the weight back that she had lost – and more in some cases.
She was a yoyo dieter with no structure and no knowledge on how to lose the excess pounds for good and achieve the physique she actually dreamt of.
Elaine has now lost a phenomenal 19kg!!!
But that’s just a bit of data. Here’s what she gained from her journey so far…
She now understands the value of having protein in her diet and how much she should be consuming. Now she knows how to manage her calories and that there is no such thing as bad food.
She now understands the importance of doing resistance workouts as well as the importance of having a structure for her week.
The difference in Elaine now to when she started is huge. This is what she had to say.
‘I’ve lived a very hectic social life in the last year and have still managed what I believe to be a great result. I wanted it to be an achievable goal and get my results in slowly, so I could still enjoy life and that’s exactly what I’ve done. My exercise level has gone through the roof and I’m loving it. I’m not quite where I want to be yet but will persevere until I get there. I’m just loving life. I feel so much healthier and fitter in myself. Thank you for your never-ending support and guidance through my weight loss journey – I wouldn’t be where I am today without you Rob”.
I’m Helen, a 39-year-old mum of two and a Sister at St James Hospital.
I began training with Rob once my youngest started school last September. Being separated from my children’s dad and having a wonderful but stressful vocation I felt it was time to try something just for myself. I came to Rob feeling anxious and with a general loss of confidence in myself as a person (although I hid this very well!) Rob immediately made me feel at ease. He is an amazing Personal Trainer and Life Coach.
I’d always found the gym environment intimidating but since meeting weekly with Rob I cannot describe the confidence I have gained in such a short time. We spend a lot of time working with weights, something I’d never considered before. With Rob’s expert instruction and vast knowledge in sports nutrition, I’ve seen and felt rapid changes in the strength and condition of my body.
Rob is very easy to connect with as he is very open and human, which makes him a fantastic life coach and friend. He genuinely cares for the wellbeing and success of every single client.
I can honestly say I’ve never felt calmer and physically, mentally and emotionally stronger than I currently do and this, in turn, has a positive impact on my children. I attribute a lot of this to Rob’s way of coaching so forever thankful!
